The Catch Wave Collective's primary interest is the exploration of the boundaries and potentials of cross-media art forms. The collective is committed to developing bodies of work that engage, inform and take audiences on journeys to alternative places, presenting stories and ideas that challenge modern tendencies towards disconnection and apathy. We are committed to creating cutting edge, progressive theatre, music and film works, by constantly exploring, challenging and engaging new ideas, forms and stories.

Sarah Hansen - Artist Statement
I work with digital and 16mm film, analogue and digital photography, as well as in theatre and through music and songwriting.

I am primarily interested in the idea of story telling within different formats and through a variety of mediums. For this reason I experiment a lot with style, form and language, merging rhetorical documentary and experimental stylistics to create a varied repertoire. I enjoy working with the shading of sound and image, and engaging the musical or poetic qualities of the cinematic language, or any image or thought that resonates for me personally.

Any art is informed and shaped by the creator's experiences and knowledge; and for this reason I am constantly searching out new, varied, rich encounters, perspectives and skills to enlighten and mould my projects. My travels have inspired my work as much as the people I love and live with on a day-to-day basis.

My personal mantra is one of exploration and experimentation, through which I hope to produce a body of work that embodies my shared experience.
